Restraining Orders
New relationships can be very exciting and fun. However, threatening behavior, assault, molestation, and stalking can turn a loving relationship sour rather quickly. It may not seem like it on the surface, but the best way to mitigate this type of abusive behavior is to immediately file a restraining order against the abuser.
You are not alone. Thousands of people across all races and socio-economic levels are abused on a daily basis. The one thing you do not want to do if you are being harassed or intimidated by someone is to ignore it and hope the person simply goes away.
There are several types of restraining orders you can get, including:
- Order of Protection, which legally bars a person from committing any type of domestic violence against you.
- Emergency Order of Protection, which is an Order of Protection that can be given verbally if you are in eminent physical danger.
- Release Order, which protects you from someone who has been arrested for domestic violence and then released.
- injunction Against Harassment, which grants the bearer protection against any type of harassment.
If youโve been constantly stalked, threatened, harassed, restrained, kidnapped, assaulted, surreptitiously filmed or photographed, or sexually abused (or know someone who is) and you need help filing a petition for a restraining order, call King Law Firm Attorneys at Law immediately for a consultation.
