Whatever the case may be, we’ll do our best to give you the correct, legal and up-to-date information or direct you where you may go to find it.

Things To Keep In Mind

When representing yourself, or researching information on a legal matter, always remember to stay mindful of current law and make sure that whatever advice or resources you use to prepare and file forms are accurate and up-to-date. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Remain honest and ethical. When filling out forms or speaking with a mediator or judge, always be completely honest. Being dishonest or offering false information or testimony on any state or federal paperwork or in the courtroom can lead to more hardships, including the loss of custody, property, or, in the most extreme cases, jail time.
  • Fill out all forms thoroughly and clearly. If forms are filled out incorrectly, or information cannot be deciphered, it could lead to long, stressful delays in the processing of your case.
  • Make sure the laws are accurate and up-to-date. There are a myriad of laws that must be followed when dealing with any legal issue. But those laws are constantly changing, and what was once mandatory or acceptable one day may no longer be the next, which could lead to delays in the processing of your case.
  • Stay mindful of the needs of your spouse and child. It’s okay to be selfish when dealing with personal legal issues, but always remember that those parties on the other side are also seeking to be heard and have their own needs and desires. By remaining mindful of their needs and staying open-minded in negotiations, you can help the process run smoother, which can help lead to a more satisfying and fair outcome for all parties involved.
